Early experience:

Oscar Piastri started his karting career in 2011. In 2014, he took part in various competitions and championships in Australia. Beginning in 2015, he started to participate in the karting championships approved by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) in Europe and other regions. In 2016, he went to the UK to continue his racing career and won the sixth place in the Bahrain World Championship in 2016.

Sports career:

In 2019, Piastri won the championship title of the Formula Renault Eurocup. Then, in 2020, he made his debut in the F3 (Formula 3) events and successfully won the overall championship of the FIA Formula 3 Championship. In 2021, Piastri went on to win the Formula 2 championship. On November 16, 2021, Piastri was confirmed as the reserve driver for the Alpine F1 Team for the 2022 season. In December of the same year, with two rounds of the F2 season remaining, Piastri had already locked in the honor of the season championship in advance.


On August 3, 2022, the Alpine Team officially announced that Piastri would compete in F1 on behalf of the team the following year. However, Piastri clarified on his personal social media that he had not signed a contract with Alpine for 2023 and would not represent Alpine in the competitions the next year. In September 2022, the McLaren Team announced that Piastri would join hands with Lando Norris to jointly take on the challenges of the 2023 season. The Contract Recognition Board of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) confirmed that the contract Piastri signed with McLaren on July 4 was valid, indicating that he was qualified to represent the McLaren Team in the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
