Max Verstappen was born on September 30, 1997, in Hasselt, Belgium. He is a Dutch Formula One (F1) driver and currently drives for the Red Bull Racing team. He won the F1 Drivers' Championship in 2021, 2022, and 2023. Max's father, Jos Verstappen, is a former Dutch F1 driver. Since childhood, Max has been trained with the goal of becoming a racing driver. He started karting at the age of four and became the world champion in the highest level of karting at the age of sixteen. In 2015, he joined Scuderia Toro Rosso (the Red Bull junior team). At the age of seventeen years and 166 days in 2015, Max Verstappen made his F1 debut representing Scuderia Toro Rosso, becoming the youngest driver in F1 history. In 2016, he was promoted to the Red Bull Racing team. In the same year, at the Spanish Grand Prix, at the age of eighteen years and 228 days, Max Verstappen won the race in his first appearance representing the Red Bull Racing team, thus becoming the youngest Grand Prix winner. At the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Max Verstappen overtook the leading Lewis Hamilton on the final lap and was crowned the F1 Drivers' Championship for the first time in his career. In 2022, he set a record by winning fifteen Grand Prix races and successfully defended his F1 Drivers' Championship four rounds ahead of schedule. In October 2023, Verstappen achieved his third consecutive F1 Drivers' Championship. In December of the same year, Verstappen was named one of the Top Ten International Athletes in 2023 by the Sports Department of Xinhua News Agency.
