Early Experiences:


Daniel Ricciardo was born in Perth, Australia on July 1, 1989. He started driving karts and participating in multiple karting events when he was nine years old.


In 2005, Daniel Ricciardo took part in the Western Australian Formula Ford Championship and achieved the eighth place. In 2006, he participated in the Formula BMW World Championship. Eventually, he finished 14 seconds behind the champion, Christian Vietoris, ranking fifth. In the same year, Ricciardo managed to get on the podium 12 times, secured 1 pole position, set the fastest lap 3 times, and accumulated a total of 231 points. In 2007, he competed in the Italian Formula Renault Championship and finally ranked sixth in the annual standings with 196 points.


In 2008, Daniel Ricciardo took part in the Western European Cup F1 race and won his first European championship. Then he participated in the European Cup F1 event and won the second place. Also in that year, he took part in the Renault Series Formula races and won championships on multiple occasions. In 2009, he participated in the British Formula 3 Championship, won 6 races, got on the podium 12 times, secured 6 pole positions, and set the fastest lap 4 times.

F1 Career

Toro Rosso (Scuderia Toro Rosso) Period


In December 2009, Daniel Ricciardo drove a Formula One car for the first time to participate in the Red Bull Racing's young driver test and set the fastest lap time of 1 minute and 17 seconds. In 2011, he served as a test driver and a reserve driver for the Toro Rosso team. In July of the same year, he took part in the British Grand Prix and made his debut in an official F1 race. In 2012, Ricciardo became an official driver for the Toro Rosso team and won the ninth place in the Australian Grand Prix, obtaining points for the first time in his F1 career.

Red Bull Racing Team Period


In 2014, Ricciardo officially represented the Red Bull Racing team to compete in F1 events. He achieved the second place in the qualifying session of the Australian Grand Prix and won the championships of three Grand Prix races, namely the Canadian Grand Prix, the Hungarian Grand Prix, and the Belgian Grand Prix, thus winning the third place in the F1 Drivers' Championship of that year. In June 2017, he won the Azerbaijan Grand Prix of Formula One.

Renault Team Period


In August 2018, Ricciardo transferred from the Red Bull Racing team to the Renault team.

McLaren Team Period


On May 14, 2020, Ricciardo confirmed that he would drive for the McLaren team starting from the 2021 season. On September 12, 2021, he won the championship of the Italian Grand Prix in F1.

Return to the Red Bull Racing Team Period


On July 11, 2023, the Red Bull Racing team officially announced that Ricciardo joined the team as an official driver. On September 22, 2024, in the main race of the 2024 Formula One World Championship Singapore Grand Prix, Ricciardo put on soft tires at the last moment and surpassed Norris's fastest lap time. After the race, he said that this race might be the last F1 event in his career.
